Accessibility Statement
Our Commitment
MedTech Voice is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all users, including people with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information about medical technology innovation and services.
We strive to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA. These guidelines outline how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.
Accessibility Features
We have implemented the following features to make our website more accessible:
Navigation and Structure
- Skip navigation link: A "Skip to main content" link is available at the top of every page for keyboard users
- Semantic HTML: We use proper heading hierarchy (h1-h6), landmarks (nav, main, footer), and semantic elements throughout the site
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, forms, menus) are fully operable via keyboard
- Focus management: Visual focus indicators are provided on all interactive elements. Focus is trapped within modal dialogs and the mobile menu to prevent keyboard users from losing their place
- Consistent navigation: Navigation menus appear in the same location across all pages
Visual Design
- Color contrast: Text and interactive elements meet the minimum 4.5:1 contrast ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text, as required by WCAG 2.1 AA
- Color independence: Information is never conveyed by color alone. Additional visual indicators (icons, text labels, patterns) supplement color-coded elements
- Responsive design: The site is fully responsive and functions on screen sizes from 320px upward, supporting zoom up to 200% without loss of content or function
- Reduced motion: Users who have enabled "Reduce Motion" in their operating system preferences will see simplified animations
Content and Media
- Alternative text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text. Decorative images are marked with empty alt attributes or aria-hidden
- Video content: YouTube embedded videos include YouTube's built-in captioning features. We encourage our video team to provide accurate captions on all published content
- Link clarity: Links are descriptive and indicate their destination. We avoid generic link text like "click here"
Forms and Interactions
- Form labels: All form fields have associated labels and instructions
- Error handling: Form validation provides clear, descriptive, inline error messages. Errors are announced to screen readers using ARIA live regions
- Focus trapping: Modal components (video lightbox, chatbot panel, mobile menu) trap keyboard focus within the container and return focus to the triggering element when closed
AI Chatbot
- AI disclosure: The chatbot clearly identifies itself as an AI-powered assistant upon first interaction (EU AI Act compliance)
- Keyboard accessible: The chatbot panel is fully keyboard navigable with focus trapping
- Screen reader support: Chat messages use ARIA live regions so new responses are announced to assistive technology
Known Limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 Level AA compliance, we are aware of the following limitations and are actively working to resolve them:
- Third-party content: Some embedded YouTube videos may not have fully accurate auto-generated captions. We are working with our production team to ensure manually reviewed captions are available for all our content
- PDF documents: Some downloadable documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate existing PDFs and ensure all new documents are born-accessible
- Legacy blog content: Some older blog articles may have accessibility gaps that are being addressed on a rolling basis
Testing and Validation
We test our website for accessibility using a combination of automated tools and manual techniques:
- Automated testing with axe-core and Lighthouse accessibility audits
- Manual keyboard navigation testing across all pages and interactive components
- Screen reader testing with NVDA (Windows) and VoiceOver (macOS/iOS)
- Browser compatibility testing across current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge
- Mobile device testing on iOS and Android platforms

- Section 508 - U.S. Rehabilitation Act
- ADA Title III - Americans with Disabilities Act
- EN 301 549 - European Accessibility Standard
